Aladdin (2019)

“Aladdin” is directed by Guy Ritchie and it stars Will Smith, Mena Massound, Naomi Scott, and Marwan Kenzari. In this movie, we follow the story of Aladdin (Mena) as he has fallen in love with Princess Jasmine (Naomi). He goes on an adventure because of Jafar (Marwan) to get the lamp that contains a genie that will allow him to become the ruler of Agraba. With unfortunate event Aladdin and with the help of the genie (Will) they go on an adventure that will change their lives together.
I have some problems with Disney live-action movies, I think they are copying the classics and pasting it by getting live-action envolved to these classics. So far the results have been shown it been doing that.
For things, I liked the movie. I think the cast where a great choice Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Genie had great people portraying them. Will I say Will Smith genie was better than Robin Williams genie? I will say no because both of them exist in their world and each brought a new dimension to the character. The locations and shots of the movie were great as they were drawn animated 20 years ago. The soundtrack was great as it was in the animated one.
However, we have things I did not like about the movie. It’s the copy-paste situation with these classics. I say maybe they could change things in the movie that bring a different story. It was watching the movie in real-life then animated. Yes, I get it this is what they are doing. They are re-making them but I still want things to change so I could be interested in what was different about this story from the animated one. Then literally saying the character’s dialogue out loud as I have seen the animated movie just yesterday. The songs were okay, I was not a fan with Naomi single in the movie, I thought that was a bit too much for my liking.
Regardless, I think if you want to watch this movie go right ahead but be warn you watching the same thing over again but I would say watch the movie for Will Smith performance I enjoyed it.
