Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is directed by David Yates and it stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Ezra Miller. This movie is the continuation of the Fantastic Beast saga. This movie is basically a Grindelwald movie as he is creating friction between the Muggles and the wizardly world. This, in turn, is causing some people in the wizardly world to either continue their life as it is or become supreme to the Muggles. I really liked the first movie when it came out as I am a big fan of Harry Potter. With this prequel, I had countless ideas on who this movie is gonna grow and gave us surprises and also help solve some questions we had in the first movie. However, this was not the case in this movie. It left us even more puzzled then it should and also did not answer some of the questions we had from the first movie.

The good parts of the movie were the cast. I might have mentioned in the first movie review. The assembling cast is a good choice in the movie and their characters are great in the movie. David Yates had done a great job being the director in this film as he is shown time after time why he is a great director.

Now the things that were not satisfying in the movie. It had to be the questions that were not resolved in the movie. This had to be one of the issues that most film sequels always have. But this movies unsolved questions and also setting up future movies of this saga really left me in the movie really puzzled. Another issue I had with the movie was the amount of plot twist in the movie. I get it sometimes if used well it leaves a great moment in the film but this plot twist left us with even more questions which are not good.

For a Harry Potter movie, it was not great and could be considered one of the weakest in the saga. Hopefully, with the third movie they might fix the issues they had in this movie but on how the movie finished it leaves me very puzzled on how the future of these prequels will continue.
