“The Grinch” is directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier and it stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rashida Jones, and Kenan Thompson. This movie is based on a Dr.Seuss book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” The movie is the third movie about the character, I have seen the cartoon version back as a kid and I used to like to watch it during the Christmas season. The second version, which was live action, Jim Carry played as the Grinch. As a kid, I thought it was weird but now I sort of enjoy it but not like the cartoon version. This one is lived action and honestly thought the movie was OK. The story was pretty much the same from the previous installments. I liked how they were able to recreate some scenes from the previous movies. I thought the animation was amazing I honestly wished I saw this as a kid. I might have enjoyed it more as a kid. It looked very smooth and beautiful. The characters were OK. Cumberbatch performance was great but you can’t really tell much from an animating movie but I honestly enjoyed seeing him as a voice actor.
Overall, this movie was so-so for me. It was not great or bad. Honestly, I would just wait for this movie to come on Netflix.
