Mission:Impossible-Fallout

The following is a collaborative review!

My Review:

“Mission: Impossible – Fallout” is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and it stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Henry Cavill. This movie is the continuation of the highly successful “Mission: Impossible” franchise.  After watching this movie, this is how I would rank this series:

6. Mission: Impossible 2
5. Mission: Impossible
4. Mission: Impossible 3
3. Mission: Impossible – Rouge Nation
2. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
1. Mission: Impossible – Fallout

This movie is now my favorite from this franchise. There are many reasons for this. The cinematography of the movie was beautiful, and there were scenes in the movie in which you can just admire the aesthetic beauty of the environment. I also found the story to be very engaging. The score in the movie kept things really exciting, it’s one of those scores that really elevates the experience. The action scenes are fantastic as always and I loved the characters, both new and old. I particularly enjoyed Henry Cavill’s character. I also really liked how the movie incorporated plot points from previous entries in the franchise but also had a strong stand-alone story.  I did not find any flaws in the movie which made this movie my favorite in the series. This movie might be my favorite action movie of all time. Previously “Mad Max: Fury Road” was my favorite in the genre but as of today, I believe that has changed.

5/5 STARS

Yash’s Reply:

As a fan of this franchise, I was also surprised that this movie managed to be one of my favorites. I still think the fourth movie is just as good and have a hard time picking just one for my favorite. My ranking of the series lines up almost exactly how yours does, so I definitely agree with you for the most part there. However, I strongly agree with how the action scenes were truly just sensational. I had so much fun watching this movie. I don’t think I will call it my favorite action movie of all time, mostly because I haven’t given myself time to think about it, but it is certainly one of the strongest action movies of the summer.

Yash’s Review:

“Mission: Impossible – Fallout” is an outstanding action movie spectacle that stands among in this now six-part series. The story in the movie does feel like a rehash of previously done movies in this genre but the movie handles it with great creativity when it comes to its action scenes. Every fight, chase, shootout, or exchange of dialogue leads to a twist or develops the surprisingly complex storyline. The movie really keeps you on the edge of your seat. I truly believe this franchise is currently Tom Cruise’s best work in his career. His dedication to the stuntwork in these movies is just extraordinary.  I liked seeing the characters I’ve seen in previous entries again and Henry Cavill was a fun addition. The movie is among the best of the summer and even of the year. It’s a ton of fun and only left me wanting even more from this franchise and these characters. This movie is a love letter to action movie junkies because every action scene is essentially flawless.

My Reply:

I also think this movie stands out within the series. I also feel the story feels familiar yet completely new. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat with its fight and chase scenes. I also feel that this is Tom Cruise’s best franchise and he has always done an amazing job. I also feel this is the movie of the summer and one of the best of the year. I am really excited about what the future holds for these characters but for now, this movie will be there to entertain me as my new favorite action movie.
