Avengers: Infinity War

The following is a collaborative review!

My Review:

“Avengers: Infinity War: is directed by the Russo Brothers and it stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson and the countless other people. In this movie, the story revolves around Thanos and his journey to collect the 6 infinity stones to fill his infinity gauntlet. This movie had so much hype building up to the eventual release and it did not disappoint me all. The movie features great characters, dialogue, and humorous moments. The third act of the movie is the best sequences of scenes in the MCU. This movie delivered from start to finish. As mentioned earlier, the dialogue and comedy were both excellent in the movie. The chemistry and interactions between the characters were fun and memorable. The action scenes were great, especially in the third act which made the movie stand out. The movie did feel a bit overlong for me. I found the second act to feel long and at times become boring. However, this is overshadowed by the film’s fantastic first and third act. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and the movie’s amazing finale left me anxious and excited for what is to come next.

Yash’s Response:

I pretty much agree with Sameed on most aspects of the film. I found the comedy and action to be very good and the third act truly was mesmerizing. Personally, I thought this movie moved at a very good pace and I didn’t even feel how long it was. I am just glad this movie surpassed my expectations and has reminded me of why I love Marvel so much. I cannot wait to see where they go from here.

Yash’s Review:

The Russo brothers have been responsible for some of my favorite Marvel films over the last few years. That being said, “Infinity War” is their crowning achievement. This movie is a joyous celebration of a decade of fun movies with great characters. The movie does an exceptional job of juggling many characters and story arcs and they come together in the final act very nicely. This movie just blew me away in every aspect. The action and humor are all great, as it typically is in a Marvel movie. I found myself laughing at the jokes and enjoying all of the fight scenes in the movie. However, this movie does a few things movies in the MCU don’t frequently pull off. For one, it may have the best villain we’ve seen in a very long time with Thanos. The opening scene makes it clear that he is a force to be reckoned with and every second feels like a real danger. The other aspect of the movie that truly surprised me is how boldly shocking the conclusion is and how it truly has an emotional center. I won’t get into what happens, but this is the first time where I genuinely have no idea what is to come next in this universe. The conclusion of the film left me speechless and my heart racing. This is an absolutely fantastic film that has both set the bar for the upcoming summer season very high and just might be the best movie Marvel has brought to us yet that will leave you begging for the next chapter. It will blow you away.

My Reply:

I agree that the Russo brothers have impacted Marvel in a big way. The chemistry between different characters was handled very well in the movie and juggling different story arcs was done exceptionally well. The action scenes and comedy was done really well and I too was laughing with all of the jokes in the movie. The one thing I might have not mentioned in my review was some thoughts on Thanos. I agree with Yash and feel he was the most brutal villain we ever had in the MCU especially with the opening scene, which blew my mind. I agree with Yash that the conclusion of the film leaves me anxious and waiting for more. For me, the ending had to be hands down the best ending we ever had for the MCU.
